Ultraviolet lights of high and low intensity is a portable source of ultraviolet radiation. Flashlights are either on the internal rechargeable battery or a ordinary battery.

UV flashlights are designed for a wide range of applications:
- Nondestructive capillary and magnetic particle inspection for visualizing defects
- To control the tightness and leak detection - UV-curing and drying (using special adhesives and lacquers)
- To verify the authenticity of banknotes and other stamps,
